About Alex Arzu

The Artist
Houston-Based. Civic-Scale. Built to Last.
Alex Arzu is a Houston-based public artist, muralist, and multidisciplinary designer whose work lives at the intersection of art, architecture, and civic experience.
Over more than a decade of practice, Alex has developed a deep command of scale — designing works that function as visual landmarks, cultural anchors, and expressions of community identity. His projects span large-scale exterior murals, site-specific installations, experiential interiors, and immersive public art designed for cities, institutions, developers, and culturally driven organizations.
Alex approaches every project as a problem of place: How does this space feel? What story does it hold? What does it need to say? That thinking — grounded in architecture, fabrication, and visual communication — drives work that is both artistically rigorous and practically built.
He has collaborated with civic agencies, educational institutions, real estate developers, hospitality brands, and community organizations throughout Texas and beyond, bringing the same level of craft and intention to every commission regardless of scope.
“The work has to earn its place. It has to be built with enough intention, craft, and specificity that it becomes part of a location’s identity — not just decoration applied to it.”

Approach
Alex’s process is methodical and collaborative. Projects begin with deep context research — understanding the site, the community, the institution, and the purpose behind the commission.
From there, concept development moves through visual exploration, material specification, fabrication planning, and installation in a structured workflow that keeps clients informed and confident at every stage.
The result is work built to last — physically, culturally, and visually.
